'What Have We Done' has been pulled from the socially conscious "peace" side of Mike James Kirkland's seminal Hang On In There album, and is one of the clear standouts with some serious gravity. Those powerful, righteous vocals land with great impact even decades later, while the flip, 'The Prophet,' was originally tucked away on the obscure Styrene label and now gets its first-ever vinyl pressing here. It's an excellent spiritual funk groove in its own right. This is deep soul that more than meets the 'essential buy' threshold.
